ARE 130: Exploring Art and Visual Culture


In this project, students (general education/non-majors) were asked to choose an artwork that had been shared in class and reinterpret it into a new artwork that makes a social commentary on something in public life that affects them. They were asked to think about how they could reinterpret the original artwork.  


VISUAL METAPHOR
ARE 150: Children's Art and Visual Culture


In this project, students (general education/non-majors) were asked to create a visual response to ideas presented in readings and course discussions/lectures. They were asked to select a specific idea or theme that we had discussed with the class and consider how they might explore that idea visually.
